कर्णप्रावरणाश्रैव बहवस्तत्र भारत । तत्रस्था द्वारपालैस्ते प्रोच्यन्ते राजशासनात् | कृतकाला: सुबलयस्ततो द्वारमवाप्स्यथ
karṇaprāvaraṇāś caiva bahavas tatra bhārata | tatrāsthā dvārapālaiś te procyante rājaśāsanāt | kṛtakālāḥ subalayas tato dvāram avāpsyatha bhārata ||
ദുര്യോധനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ ഭാരതാ! കർണപ്രാവരണർ മുതലായ അനേകം രാജാക്കന്മാർ അവിടെ വാതില്ക്കൽ നിന്നിരുന്നു. രാജശാസനപ്രകാരം ദ്വാരപാലകർ അവരോട്—‘നിങ്ങളുടെ സമയം നിശ്ചയിക്കൂ; പിന്നെ വഴിപാടുകൾ ഒരുക്കി വാതിലിലൂടെ പ്രവേശനം നേടുക’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
