Nārada’s Examination of Royal Ethics
एकोअप्यमात्यो मेधावी शूरो दान्तो विचक्षण: । राजानं राजपुत्रं वा प्रापयेन्महतीं श्रियम्,यदि एक भी मन्त्री मेधावी, शौर्यसम्पन्न, संयमी और चतुर हो तो राजा अथवा राजकुमारको विपुल सम्पत्तिकी प्राप्ति करा देता है
eko 'py amātyo medhāvī śūro dānto vicakṣaṇaḥ | rājānaṃ rājaputraṃ vā prāpayen mahatīṃ śriyam ||
ഒരു മന്ത്രിയെങ്കിലും മേധാവി, ശൂരൻ, സംയമി, വിവേകി ആയാൽ, അവൻ രാജാവിനെയോ രാജകുമാരനെയോ മഹത്തായ സമൃദ്ധിയിലേക്കു നയിക്കും.
नारद उवाच
A ruler’s success depends greatly on the quality of counsel: even one capable minister—intelligent, brave, disciplined, and discerning—can secure great prosperity for a king or prince. The verse highlights character and judgment as the foundation of effective governance.
