विदुर उवाच नाभिनन्दामि ते राजन्‌ व्यवसायमिमं प्रभो | पुत्रैभेदो यथा न स्याद्‌ द्यूतहेतोस्तथा कुरु,विदुर बोले--राजन्‌! मैं आपके इस निश्चयको पसंद नहीं करता। प्रभो! आप ऐसा प्रयत्न कीजिये, जिससे जूएके लिये आपके और पाण्डुके पुत्रोंमें भेदभाव न हो

vidura uvāca nābhinandāmi te rājan vyavasāyam imaṁ prabho | putrair bhedo yathā na syād dyūta-hetoḥ tathā kuru ||

വിദുരൻ പറഞ്ഞു—രാജാവേ, പ്രഭോ! നിങ്ങളുടെ ഈ തീരുമാനത്തെ ഞാൻ അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നില്ല. ചൂതാട്ടത്തിന്റെ പേരിൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പാണ്ഡുവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും തമ്മിൽ ഭേദം പിറക്കാതിരിക്കുവാൻ നിങ്ങൾ അങ്ങനെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കണം.
