मायासभायां दुर्योधनस्य अवमान-प्रसङ्गः
Duryodhana’s Humiliation in the Hall of Māyā
शक््यं वा यदि वाशक्यं करिष्यामि वचस्तव । एवमुक्ता तत:ः कृष्णमब्रवीद् यदुनन्दनम्,“सम्भव हो या असम्भव, तुम्हारे वचनका मैं अवश्य पालन करूँगा।” इस प्रकार आश्वासन मिलनेपर श्रुतश्रवा यदुनन्दन श्रीकृष्णसे बोली--
śakyaṃ vā yadi vāśakyaṃ kariṣyāmi vacas tava | evam uktā tataḥ kṛṣṇam abravīd yadunandanam |
“സാധ്യമായാലും അസാധ്യമായാലും—നിന്റെ വാക്ക് ഞാൻ തീർച്ചയായും പാലിക്കും.” ഇങ്ങനെ ഉറപ്പ് ലഭിച്ചതോടെ ശ്രുതാശ്രവാ യദുനന്ദനനായ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണനോട് പറഞ്ഞു—
भीष्म उवाच
The verse underscores the dharmic seriousness of giving one’s word: a commitment should be honored regardless of convenience, and one should speak promises with full awareness of their binding ethical force.
A pledge is given—"I will do your bidding whether possible or not"—and, upon receiving this assurance, Śrutāśravā proceeds to speak to Kṛṣṇa (addressed as Yadunandana), moving the dialogue forward in the Sabha Parva setting.
