Śiśupāla-vadha in the Rājasūya-sabhā (शिशुपालवधः — राजसूयसभायाम्)
तस्य भीमस्य भीष्मेण वार्यमाणस्य भारत । गुरुणा विविधैर्वाक्यै: क्रोध: प्रशममागत:,भारत! पितामह भीष्मके द्वारा अनेक प्रकारकी बातें कहकर रोके जानेपर भीमसेनका क्रोध शान्त हो गया
tasya bhīmasya bhīṣmeṇa vāryamāṇasya bhārata | guruṇā vividhair vākyaiḥ krodhaḥ praśamam āgataḥ ||
ഹേ ഭാരതാ! ഗുരുവായ പിതാമഹൻ ഭീഷ്മൻ പലവിധ വചനങ്ങളാൽ തടഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ, ഭീമസേനന്റെ ക്രോധം ശമിച്ച് ശാന്തമായി.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Anger, even when justified by provocation, should be restrained; the guidance of elders and teachers (guru) can restore balance and prevent rash action that would violate dharma.
Bhīma is in a state of anger and is being held back. Bhīṣma, acting as a venerable elder, restrains him with varied counsel, and as a result Bhīma’s wrath subsides.
