Adhyāya 31: Rājasūya-samāgama — The Gathering of Kings and the Ordering of Hospitality
sa cāsya pratijagrāha sasutaḥ śāsanaṃ tadā | prītipūrva mahārāja vāsudevam avekṣya ca ||
The verse highlights dharmic acceptance of rightful instruction: receiving a directive with prīti (goodwill) rather than resentment, and aligning one’s response with reverence for wise, dharma-guiding authority (here signaled by looking toward Vāsudeva).
A figure (with his son) formally accepts another person’s command/instruction. The acceptance is described as respectful and willing, and the act is framed by a glance toward Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa), suggesting approval, guidance, or a dharmic orientation in the decision.
