प्रकर्षणाकर्षणा भ्यामनुकर्षविकर्षणै: । आचर्कर्षतुरन्योन्यं जानुभिश्वावजघ्नतु:,वे एक-दूसरेको पीछे ढकेलते और आगे खींचते थे। बार-बार खींचतान और छीना- झपटी करते थे। दोनोंने अपने प्रहारोंसे एक-दूसरेके शरीरमें खरौंच एवं घाव पैदा कर दिये और दोनों दोनोंको पटककर घुटनोंसे मारने तथा रगड़ने लगे
prakarṣaṇākarṣaṇābhyām anukarṣavikarṣaṇaiḥ | ācarakarṣatur anyonyaṃ jānubhiś cāvajaghnatuḥ ||
അവർ പരസ്പരം ശക്തിയായി തള്ളിയും വലിച്ചും—വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും വലിച്ചിഴച്ച് പിടിച്ചുപറിയും ചെയ്ത്—അടുത്ത പോരാട്ടത്തിൽ പിടിമുറുക്കി. ആവർത്തിച്ച പ്രഹാരങ്ങളാൽ ഇരുവരുടെയും ശരീരങ്ങളിൽ ചുരണ്ടലുകളും മുറിവുകളും ഉണ്ടായി; പിന്നെ ഒരാളെ മറ്റൊന്ന് നിലത്തടിച്ച് മുട്ടുകൊണ്ട് അടിക്കുകയും ഞെരിച്ച് ഉരയ്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു—മത്സരത്തിന്റെ ചൂടിൽ നിയന്ത്രണം വിട്ട്.
