अध्याय १: महाप्रस्थानारम्भः
The Commencement of the Great Departure
एष पुत्रस्य पुत्रस्ते कुरुराजो भविष्यति । यदूनां परिशेषश्च वज्ो राजा कृतश्च ह ८ ।। “बेटी! यह तुम्हारे पुत्रका पुत्र परीक्षित् कुरुदेश तथा कौरवोंका राजा होगा और यादवोंमें जो लोग बच गये हैं उनका राजा श्रीकृष्ण-पौत्र वज्जको बनाया गया है
eṣa putrasya putras te kururājo bhaviṣyati | yadūnāṁ pariśeṣaś ca vajro rājā kṛtaś ca ha || 8 ||
“മകളേ! ഇതാ നിന്റെ പുത്രന്റെ പുത്രൻ; കുരുക്കളുടെ രാജാവാകും. യാദവരിൽ ശേഷിച്ചവർക്കായി വജ്രനെ രാജാവാക്കി നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.”
