कृष्ण उवाच योडसौ त्वया खाण्डवे चित्रभानु संतर्पयाणेन धनुर्धरेण । वियद्गतो जननीगुप्तदेहो मत्वैकरूपं निहतास्य माता
kṛṣṇa uvāca yo 'sau tvayā khāṇḍave citrabhānuḥ saṃtarpayānena dhanurdhareṇa | viyadgato jananīguptadeho matvaikarūpaṃ nihatāsya mātā ||
കൃഷ്ണൻ പറഞ്ഞു—“ധനുർധരാ! ഖാണ്ഡവവനത്തിൽ നീ അമ്പുകളാൽ തൃപ്തിപ്പെടുത്തിയ ആ ചിത്രഭാനു (അഗ്നി) പിന്നീട് ആകാശത്തിലേക്ക് ഉയർന്നു; അവന്റെ ദേഹം മാതാവ് മറച്ചുവെച്ചിരുന്നു. അവൻ ഒരേ രൂപമാണെന്ന് കരുതി അവന്റെ മാതാവ് വധിക്കപ്പെട്ടു.”
