अध्याय ९ — कर्णस्य प्रहारः, योधयुग्मनियोजनम्, शैनेय-कैकेययोर्युद्धविन्यासः
द्यूतं॑ कृत्वा पुरा हृष्ो वज्चयित्वा च पाण्डवान्
dyūtaṃ kṛtvā purā hṛṣṭo vañcayitvā ca pāṇḍavān
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു— പണ്ടൊരിക്കൽ ദ്യൂതക്രീഡ നടത്തി അവൻ ആഹ്ലാദിച്ചു; കപടത്താൽ പാണ്ഡവരെ വഞ്ചിച്ചു.
