अध्याय ९ — कर्णस्य प्रहारः, योधयुग्मनियोजनम्, शैनेय-कैकेययोर्युद्धविन्यासः
रथभडज़ो न चेत् तस्य धरनुर्वा न व्यशीर्यत
rathabhaḍazo na cet tasya dharanurvā na vyaśīryata
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അങ്ങനെ അല്ലായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ, അവന്റെ വില്ല് കൈയിൽ നിന്ന് വഴുതിപ്പോകുമായിരുന്നില്ല; അതു തകർന്നുപോകുകയും ചെയ്തേനേ ഇല്ല.
