कर्णस्य मत्वा तु जयं त्वदीया: परां मुदं सिंहनादांश्व चक्कुः । सर्वे हामन्यन्त भूशाहतौ च कर्णेन कृष्णाविति कौरवेन्द्र,उस समय आपके सैनिक कर्णकी विजय समझकर बड़े प्रसन्न हुए और सिंहनाद करने लगे। कौरवेन्द्र! उन सबने यही समझा कि कर्णने श्रीकृष्ण और अर्जुनको बहुत घायल कर दिया है
karṇasya matvā tu jayaṃ tvadīyāḥ parāṃ mudaṃ siṃhanādāṃś ca cakruḥ | sarve manyanta bhṛśāhatau ca karṇena kṛṣṇāv iti kauravendra ||
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—കർണന്റെ വിജയം എന്നു കരുതി നിങ്ങളുടെ സൈന്യം പരമാനന്ദത്തിൽ നിറഞ്ഞു സിംഹനാദം മുഴക്കി. കുരുവംശാധിപനേ! കർണൻ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണനെയും അർജുനനെയും ഭീകരമായി പരിക്കേൽപ്പിച്ചുവെന്ന് അവർ എല്ലാവരും ധരിച്ചു.
