रथज्यातलनिद्वदिर्बाणसिंहरवैस्तथा । तौ रथावभिधावन्तौ समालोक्य महीक्षिताम्
sañjaya uvāca | rathajyātalanidvair bāṇasiṃharavaistathā | tau rathāvabhidhāvantau samālokya mahīkṣitām |
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ധനുര്ജ്യയുടെ ടങ്കാരം, കരതലത്തിൽ ധനുസ്സടിക്കുന്ന ശബ്ദം, അമ്പുകളുടെ സീറൽ, സിംഹനാദങ്ങൾ—ഇവയുടെ ഇടയിൽ ആ രണ്ടു രഥങ്ങളും പരസ്പരം നേരെ പാഞ്ഞുവന്നു. രഥങ്ങൾ മുഖാമുഖം ചാർജ്ജ് ചെയ്യുന്നതും, അവരുടെ ധ്വജങ്ങൾ ചേർന്നു തൊട്ടുനിൽക്കുന്നതും കണ്ടപ്പോൾ അവിടെ കൂടിയിരുന്ന രാജാക്കന്മാർ വിസ്മയത്തിലായി. കർണ്ണന്റെ ധ്വജത്തിൽ ആനച്ചങ്ങലയുടെ ചിഹ്നം; കിരീടധാരിയായ അർജുനന്റെ ധ്വജത്തിൽ മൂർത്തിമാനായ വാനരൻ—ഹനുമാൻ—വിരാജിച്ചു.
