चर्मवर्म भ्रमोपेतां रथोडुपसमाकुलाम् । जयैषिणां च सुतरां भीरूणां च सुदुस्तराम्
carmavarma bhramopetāṁ rathoḍupasamākulām | jayaiṣiṇāṁ ca sutarāṁ bhīrūṇāṁ ca sudustarām ||
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ആ യുദ്ധഭൂമി പരിചകളും കവചങ്ങളും ചുറ്റിമറിയുന്ന കലക്കത്തിൽ നിറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു; രഥങ്ങൾ വള്ളങ്ങൾപോലെ കൂട്ടമായി കുരുങ്ങി കിടന്നു. ജയമാഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് അത് കടക്കാവുന്നതായിരുന്നുവെങ്കിലും, ഭീരുക്കൾക്ക് അത്യന്തം ദുഷ്തരമായിരുന്നു.
