सूताभिजानीहि स्वकान् परान् वा रथान् ध्वजांश्वञापतत: समेतान् । युद्धवन् हाहं नाभिजानामि किंचि- न्मा सैन्यं स्वं छादयिष्ये पृषत्कै:
sañjaya uvāca |
sūtābhijānīhi svakān parān vā rathān dhvajāṃś cāpatataḥ sametān |
yuddhavan hāhaṃ nābhijānāmi kiñcin mā sainyaṃ svaṃ chādayiṣye pṛṣatkaiḥ ||
“സൂതാ! ഒരുമിച്ച് പാഞ്ഞുവരുന്ന രഥങ്ങളെയും ധ്വജങ്ങളെയും തിരിച്ചറിയുക—അവർ നമ്മുടെ പക്ഷക്കാരോ പരപക്ഷക്കാരോ. യുദ്ധത്തിൽ ഞാൻ ഒന്നും വ്യക്തമായി തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ല; ഞാൻ നമ്മുടെ തന്നെ സൈന്യത്തെ അമ്പുകളാൽ മൂടിക്കളയരുത്.”
