कर्णनिधनवृत्तान्तनिवेदनम् | Reporting Karṇa’s Fall to Yudhiṣṭhira
भवेत् सत्यमवक्तव्यं न वक्तव्यमनुछितम् । सत्यानृते विनिश्चित्य ततो भवति धर्मवित्,केवल अनुष्ठानमें लाया गया असत्यरूप सत्य बोलनेयोग्य नहीं होता, अतः वैसा सत्य न बोले। पहले सत्य और असत्यका अच्छी तरह निर्णय करके जो परिणाममें सत्य हो उसका पालन करे। जो ऐसा करता है, वही धर्मका ज्ञाता है
bhavet satyam avaktavyaṃ na vaktavyam anucitam | satyānṛte viniścitya tato bhavati dharmavit ||
ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ചിലപ്പോൾ സത്യം തന്നെയും പറയരുതാത്തതായിരിക്കും; അനുചിതമായത് ഉച്ചരിക്കരുത്. ആദ്യം സത്യവും അസത്യവും നന്നായി നിർണയിച്ച്, പിന്നെ ഫലത്തിൽ സത്യത്തെ നിലനിർത്തുന്ന വഴിയേ പിന്തുടരണം. ഇങ്ങനെ വിവേചനത്തോടെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവനാണ് ധർമ്മജ്ഞൻ.
