अर्जुनस्य शीघ्रप्रयाणं भीम-शकुनियुद्धं च

भीमसेनस्तत: कर्ण विहाय रथसत्तमम् | प्रययौ कौरवं सैन्यं कक्षमग्निरिव ज्वलन्,तब भीमसेनने भी रथियोंमें श्रेष्ठ कर्णको छोड़कर जैसे आग घास-फूँसको जलाती है, उसी प्रकार कौरव-सेनाको दग्ध करनेके लिये उसपर आक्रमण किया
bhīmasenas tataḥ karṇa vihāya rathasattamam | prayayau kauravaṃ sainyaṃ kakṣam agnir iva jvalan |
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അപ്പോൾ ഭീമസേനൻ രഥശ്രേഷ്ഠനായ കർണ്ണനെ വിട്ടുവെച്ച് കൗരവസൈന്യത്തിനെതിരെ മുന്നേറി; ഉണങ്ങിയ പുല്ലും കുറ്റിച്ചെടികളും ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന അഗ്നിപോലെ അവൻ ജ്വലിച്ചു.
