कर्णनिधनश्रवणम् — Hearing of Karṇa’s Fall and Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Lament

तस्य मे संशयं छिन्धि दुःखपारं तितीर्षत: । कुरूणां सृञ्जयानां च के च जीवन्ति के मृता:,“मैं इस अपार दुःखसे पार पाना चाहता हूँ। तुम मेरे इस संदेहका निवारण करो कि कौरवों तथा सूंजयोंमेंसे कौन-कौन जीवित हैं और कौन-कौन मर गये हैं?”

tasya me saṁśayaṁ chindhi duḥkhapāraṁ titīrṣataḥ | kurūṇāṁ sṛñjayānāṁ ca ke ca jīvanti ke mṛtāḥ ||

ഈ അതിരില്ലാത്ത ദുഃഖസമുദ്രം കടക്കാൻ ഞാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു. എന്റെ സംശയം മുറിച്ചെറിഞ്ഞ് വ്യക്തമാക്കുക—കുരുക്കളിലും സൃഞ്ജയരിലും ആരൊക്കെ ജീവിക്കുന്നു, ആരൊക്കെ വീണുപോയി?
