अर्जुनस्य द्रोणिप्रतिघातः कर्णोपसर्पणं च

पृष्ठगोप्ता तु कर्णस्य ज्येष्ठ; ओ महारथ: । वृषसेन: स्वयं कर्ण पृष्ठत: पर्यपालयत्
pṛṣṭhagoptā tu karṇasya jyeṣṭhaḥ, o mahārathaḥ | vṛṣasenaḥ svayaṃ karṇa pṛṣṭhataḥ paryapālayat |
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ മഹാരഥശ്രേഷ്ഠാ! കർണ്ണന്റെ ജ്യേഷ്ഠപുത്രനായ മഹാരഥി വൃഷസേനൻ സ്വയം കർണ്ണന്റെ പിൻഭാഗത്ത് നിന്നു പിന്നിൽ നിന്നുള്ള പ്രഹാരങ്ങളെ തടഞ്ഞ് അവനെ സംരക്ഷിച്ചു।
