ऋद्ध गृहं सर्वकामैर्यच्च मे वसु किंचन । तत् सर्वमस्मै सत्कृत्य प्रयच्छामि न चेच्छति,“मैं सम्पूर्ण भोगोंसे सम्पन्न समृद्धिशाली घर और जो कुछ भी धन मेरे पास था, वह सब उस ब्राह्मणको सत्कारपूर्वक देने लगा; परंतु उसने कुछ भी लेनेकी इच्छा नहीं की
ṛddha gṛhaṃ sarvakāmair yac ca me vasu kiṃcana | tat sarvam asmai satkṛtya prayacchāmi na cecchati ||
എല്ലാ സൗഖ്യങ്ങളാലും സമൃദ്ധമായ എന്റെ ഗൃഹവും, എനിക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ധനമൊക്കെയും ഞാൻ ആദരവോടെ അവനു നൽകാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ അവൻ ഒന്നും സ്വീകരിക്കാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചില്ല.
