Adhyāya 41 — Kṛṣṇa’s Battlefield Briefing and the Renewal of the Great Engagement
योडयं शल्य भरतेषूपपन्न: प्रकर्षण: सर्वहरो5तिभीम: । सो5भिमन्ये क्षत्रियाणां प्रवीरान् प्रतापिता बलवान वै विमर्द:,“शल्य! वीरोंको आकृष्ट करनेवाला, सर्वसंहारक और अत्यन्त भयंकर जो यह प्रबल संग्राम भरतवंशी क्षत्रियोंपर आ पड़ा है, वह क्षत्रिय-जातिके प्रधान-प्रधान वीरोंको निश्चय ही संतप्त करेगा, ऐसा मेरा विश्वास है
sañjaya uvāca |
yo 'yaṃ śalya bharateṣūpapannaḥ prakarṣaṇaḥ sarvaharo 'tibhīmaḥ |
so 'bhimanye kṣatriyāṇāṃ pravīrān pratāpitā balavān vai vimardaḥ ||
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ ശല്യാ! ഭാരതവംശീയ ക്ഷത്രിയന്മാരുടെ മേൽ പതിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ പ്രബല സമരം—വീരന്മാരെ വലിച്ചിഴയ്ക്കുന്നതും, എല്ലാം കവർന്നെടുക്കുന്നതും, അതിഭീകരവുമായത്—ക്ഷത്രിയരുടെ അഗ്രഗണ്യ വീരന്മാരെ നിശ്ചയം ദഹിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ കരുതുന്നു.
