नेह ध्रुवं किंचिदपि प्रचिन्तयन्‌ विद्यां लोके कर्मणो नित्ययोगात्‌ । सूर्योदये को हि विमुक्तसंशयो भावं कुर्वीताद्य गुरौ निपातिते,“बहुत सोचनेपर भी मैं कर्म-सम्बन्धकी अनित्यताके कारण इस लोकमें किसी भी वस्तुको नित्य नहीं मानता। जब आचार्य द्रोण भी मार दिये गये, तब कौन संदेहरहित होकर आगामी सूर्योदयतक जीवित रहनेका दृढ़ विश्वास कर सकता है?

neha dhruvaṁ kiñcid api pracintayan vidyāṁ loke karmaṇo nityayogāt | sūryodaye ko hi vimuktasaṁśayo bhāvaṁ kurvītādya gurau nipātite |

സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—എത്ര ആലോചിച്ചാലും, കർമബന്ധത്തിന്റെ അനിത്യസ്വഭാവം കൊണ്ടു ഈ ലോകത്തിൽ ഒന്നിനെയും സ്ഥിരമെന്ന് ഞാൻ കരുതുന്നില്ല. ഇന്ന് ഗുരു ദ്രോണൻ തന്നെ നിപാതിതനായപ്പോൾ, അടുത്ത സൂര്യോദയം വരെ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുമെന്ന ദൃഢവിശ്വാസം സംശയമില്ലാതെ ആര്‍ക്കുണ്ടാകാം?
