नवमं च समाधाय व्यसृजत्‌ प्राणघातिनम्‌ | दुर्योधनायेषुवरं त॑ द्रौणि: सप्तधाच्छिनत्‌

Transliteration

navamaṃ ca samādhāya vyasṛjat prāṇaghātinam | duryodhanāyeṣuvāraṃ taṃ drauṇiḥ saptadhācchinat ||

Translation

പിന്നെ ഒൻപതാമത്തെ പ്രാണഘാതക ബാണം ധനുസ്സിൽ ഘടിപ്പിച്ച് ദുര്യോധനനിലേക്കു ആ ഉത്തമ ശരം വിട്ടു; എന്നാൽ ദ്രോണപുത്രൻ അശ്വത്ഥാമ ആ ശ്രേഷ്ഠ ബാണത്തെ ഏഴായി വെട്ടിത്തുറന്നു।
