अहो शौर्येण सम्पन्नावुभौ चोग्रपराक्रमौ । अहो भीमबलो भीम एतस्य च कृतास्त्रता,“भयंकर पराक्रम दिखानेवाले ये दोनों योद्धा अद्भुत शौर्यशाली हैं। अहो! भीमसेनका बल भयंकर है। इनका अस्त्रज्ञान अद्भुत है!
aho śauryeṇa sampannāv ubhau cogra-parākramau | aho bhīma-balo bhīma etasya ca kṛtāstratā ||
“അഹോ! ഇരുവരും ശൗര്യസമ്പന്നരും ഉഗ്രപരാക്രമികളുമാണ്. അഹോ! ഭീമന്റെ ബലം ഭയങ്കരം; ഈ വീരന്റെ അസ്ത്രനൈപുണ്യം അത്ഭുതകരം.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights that valor and mastery of arms are genuine excellences that command respect—even from observers in an enemy camp—yet in the Mahābhārata’s ethical frame, such greatness becomes morally poignant when deployed in a catastrophic kin-war.
Sañjaya, narrating the battlefield to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, expresses astonishment at the extraordinary prowess of two opposing warriors—explicitly praising Bhīma’s fearsome strength and the other fighter’s exceptional weapon-skill.
