कर्णसेनापत्यारम्भः — Karṇa’s Appointment and the Report to Dhṛtarāṣṭra

ततः प्रववृते युद्ध तुमुलं लोमहर्षणम् । कुरूणां पाण्डवानां च परस्परजयैषिणाम्
tataḥ pravavṛte yuddhaṃ tumulaṃ lomaharṣaṇam | kurūṇāṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ ca parasparajayaiṣiṇām ||
അതിനുശേഷം പരസ്പരം ജയമാഗ്രഹിച്ച കുരുക്കളുടെയും പാണ്ഡവരുടെയും ഭീകരവും കലഹപൂര്ണവും രോമാഞ്ചജനകവുമായ യുദ്ധം ആരംഭിച്ചു।
