Arjuna’s Vow to Neutralize Jayadratha
न मे जय: प्रीतिकरो न राज्यं न चामरत्वं न सुरैः: सलोकता । इमं समीक्ष्याप्रतिवीर्यपौरुषं निपातितं देववरात्मजात्मजम्
na me jayaḥ prītikaro na rājyaṁ na cāmaratvaṁ na suraiḥ salokatā | imaṁ samīkṣyāprativīryapauruṣaṁ nipātitaṁ devavarātmajātmajam ||
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ആരുടെയും വീര്യത്തിനും പൗരുഷത്തിനും തുല്യമില്ലാത്ത, ദേവശ്രേഷ്ഠനായ ഇന്ദ്രന്റെ പുത്രൻ അർജുനന്റെ പുത്രൻ അഭിമന്യു യുദ്ധഭൂമിയിൽ വീണുകിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടപ്പോൾ, എനിക്ക് ജയം സന്തോഷകരമല്ല; രാജ്യം അല്ല; അമരത്വം അല്ല; ദേവലോകസഹവാസവും അല്ല।
