केचिद् भिन्ना विषाणाग्रै्िन्नकुम्भाश्न तोमरै: । विनदन्तो<5 भ्यधावन्त गर्जमाना घना इव
sañjaya uvāca | kecid bhinnā viṣāṇāgrair bhinnakumbhāś ca tomaraiḥ | vinadanto 'bhyadhāvanta garjamānā ghanā iva ||
ചില ആനകളുടെ ദന്തങ്ങളുടെ അഗ്രഭാഗങ്ങൾ തകർന്നു ചിതറുകയായിരുന്നു; ചിലരുടെ കുംഭസ്ഥലങ്ങൾ തോമരങ്ങളുടെ പ്രഹരത്തിൽ പിളർന്നുപോയി. അവർ ഉച്ചത്തിൽ നിലവിളിച്ച്, ഘനഗർജ്ജനമുള്ള മേഘങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ മുഴങ്ങി, ഭീതിയോടെ ഇങ്ങോട്ടും അങ്ങോട്ടും ഓടിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു।
