This is a colophon marking the completion of a chapter. Its implicit teaching is that the Mahābhārata frames warfare within an ordered moral and narrative accounting—events are not random violence but part of a dharmic inquiry, here oriented toward Bhīṣma’s destined fall and the ethical tensions of the battlefield.
The text signals that the eighty-first chapter—describing the seventh day’s battle events within the Bhīṣma-vadha section of the Bhīṣma Parva—has ended. It functions as an editorial/narrative closure rather than a spoken verse of action.
