स्थितं रणाय महते भीष्मेण युधि पालितम्‌ । महाराज! इस प्रकार महारथियोंके द्वारा व्यूहबद्ध होकर आपकी सेना महायुद्धके लिये खड़ी थी और भीष्म युद्धस्थलमें उसकी रक्षा करते थे

sthitaṁ raṇāya mahate bhīṣmeṇa yudhi pālitam | mahārāja! evaṁ mahārathibhir vyūhabaddhā bhavatī senā mahāyuddhāya sthitā, bhīṣmaś ca yuddhasthale tasyā rakṣāṁ karoti sma |

മഹാരാജാ! ഇങ്ങനെ മഹാരഥികൾ വ്യൂഹബദ്ധമാക്കിയ നിങ്ങളുടെ സൈന്യം മഹായുദ്ധത്തിനായി സജ്ജമായി നിന്നിരുന്നു; രണഭൂമിയിൽ ഭീഷ്മൻ അതിനെ കാത്തും താങ്ങിയും നിന്നു.
