अध्याय ८० — मध्यंदिन-रणवृत्तान्तः

समभ्युदीर्णाश्व॒ तवात्मजांस्तथा निशम्य वीरानभित: स्थितान्‌ रणे । जिघांसुरुग्रं द्रपदात्मजो युवा प्रमोहनास्त्रं युयुजे महारथ:,युद्धमें सामने खड़े हुए आपके वीर पुत्रोंकोी आगे बढ़ते और प्रचण्ड होते देख नवयुवक महारथी द्रुपदकुमारने उनके वधके लिये भयंकर प्रमोहनास्त्रका प्रयोग किया

saṃabhyudīrṇāśva tava ātmajāṃs tathā niśamya vīrān abhitaḥ sthitān raṇe | jighāṃsur ugraṃ drapadātmajo yuvā pramohanāstraṃ yuyuje mahārathaḥ ||

സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—യുദ്ധത്തിൽ നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ ഉന്മത്തമായ അശ്വങ്ങളോടെ മുന്നേറുന്നതു കേട്ടും, ചുറ്റുമെല്ലാം വീരർ നിലകൊള്ളുന്നതു കണ്ടും, ദ്രുപദന്റെ യുവപുത്രൻ അവരുടെ വധാഭിലാഷത്തോടെ ഭയങ്കരമായ പ്രമോഹനാസ്ത്രം പ്രയോഗിച്ചു।
