अध्याय ८० — मध्यंदिन-रणवृत्तान्तः

यानि त्वं दृष्टवान् राजन् धर्मसंकरकारिते । तव दोषात् पुरा वृत्तं द्यूतमेव विशाम्पते
yāni tvaṁ dṛṣṭavān rājan dharmasaṅkarakārite | tava doṣāt purā vṛttaṁ dyūtam eva viśāmpate ||
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ രാജാവേ! ധർമ്മസംകരത്തിന് കാരണമായതായി നീ കണ്ട കാര്യങ്ങൾ, മുമ്പേ നിന്റെ ദോഷം കൊണ്ടുതന്നെ സംഭവിച്ചതാണ്; ഹേ ജനനാഥാ! അത് ദ്യൂതക്രീഡ തന്നെയായിരുന്നു।
