भीष्मस्य मण्डलव्यूहः — Bhīṣma’s Maṇḍala Battle-Formation and the Opening Engagements
तमेकं रथिनां श्रेष्ठ शरैस्ते समवाकिरन् । प्रावषीव यथा मेरुं सिषिचुर्जलदा नूप
tam ekaṁ rathināṁ śreṣṭhaṁ śarais te samavākiran | prāvṛṣi iva yathā meruṁ siṣicur jaladā nṛpa-nareśvara ||
നരേശ്വരാ! മഴക്കാലത്ത് മേഘങ്ങൾ മേരുപർവതത്തിൽ ജലധാരകൾ ചൊരിയുന്നതുപോലെ, അവർ എല്ലാവരും ചേർന്ന് രഥികളിൽ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനായ ആ ഏക ഭൂരിശ്രവസിന്റെ മേൽ അമ്പുകളുടെ കനത്ത മഴ പെയ്തു.
