Description of the Dvīpa, Varṣas, and Mount Meru
उत्तरा: कुरवो राजन् व्याख्यातास्ते समासतः । मेरो: पार्श्वमहं पूर्व वक्ष्याम्यथ यथातथम्,राजन! इस प्रकार मैंने आपसे थोड़ेमें उत्तरकुरु-वर्षका वर्णन किया। अब मैं मेरुके पूर्वभागमें स्थित भद्राश्ववर्षका यथावत् वर्णन करूँगा
uttarāḥ kuravo rājan vyākhyātās te samāsataḥ | meroḥ pārśvam ahaṃ pūrvaṃ vakṣyāmy atha yathātatham ||
ഹേ രാജൻ! ഞാൻ നിനക്കു ഉത്തരകുരു ദേശത്തെ സംക്ഷിപ്തമായി വിവരിച്ചു. ഇനി മേരുവിന്റെ കിഴക്കുഭാഗത്ത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഭദ്രാശ്വവർഷത്തെ യഥാക്രമം, യഥാർത്ഥമായി വിവരിക്കാം.
