Adhyāya 69: Strategic duels under Bhīṣma’s command

Virāṭa–Bhīṣma; Arjuna–Aśvatthāmā; Bhīma–Duryodhana; Abhimanyu–Lakṣmaṇa

ततो देवर्षिगन्धर्वा विस्मयं परमं गता: । कौतूहलपरा: सर्वे पितामहमथाब्रुवन्‌,तब देवता, ऋषि और गन्धर्व सभी बड़े विस्मयमें पड़े। उन सबने अत्यन्त उत्सुक होकर पितामह ब्रह्माजीसे कहा--

tato devarṣi-gandharvā vismayaṁ paramaṁ gatāḥ | kautūhala-parāḥ sarve pitāmaham athābruvan |

അപ്പോൾ ദേവർഷികളും ഗന്ധർവരും പരമ വിസ്മയത്തിലായി. എല്ലാവരും അത്യന്തം കൗതുകത്തോടെ പിതാമഹൻ ബ്രഹ്മാവിനോട് പറഞ്ഞു.
