भीष्मधनंजयद्वैरथम्
Bhīṣma–Dhanaṃjaya Duel and the Opening Clash
प्रकाशौ च पुनस्तूर्ण बभूवतुरुभी रणे । दोनों ही संग्रामभूमिमें एक-दूसरेके बाणसमूहोंसे आच्छादित होकर अदृश्य हो जाते और उन्हें छिन्न-भिन्न करके शीघ्र ही प्रकाशमें आ जाते थे ।।
prakāśau ca punas tūrṇaṃ babhūvatur ubhī raṇe |
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—വീണ്ടും റണഭൂമിയിൽ അവർ ഇരുവരും വേഗത്തിൽ ദൃശ്യമാവുകയായിരുന്നു. പരസ്പരത്തിന്റെ ഘനമായ അമ്പുവർഷം കൊണ്ട് അവർ പലവട്ടം മൂടപ്പെട്ടു അദൃശ്യമാകുമെങ്കിലും, ആ മറ ചിതറിച്ച് ഉടൻ തന്നെ തെളിഞ്ഞു വരുമായിരുന്നു—യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ കലഹത്തിനിടയിലും അവരുടെ വൈദഗ്ധ്യവും ദൃഢനിശ്ചയവും അചഞ്ചലമായിരുന്നു.
