Bhīṣma–Dhanaṃjaya Duel and the Opening Clash
अर्जुन: पञ्चविंशत्या भीष्ममार्च्छच्छितै: शरै:
arjunaḥ pañcaviṃśatyā bhīṣmam ārcchacchitaiḥ śaraiḥ
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അർജുനൻ ഇരുപത്തിയഞ്ച് അമ്പുകളാൽ ഭീഷ്മനെ വേദിച്ചു, നിയന്ത്രിത ബലത്തോടെ യുദ്ധത്തെ മുന്നോട്ട് നീക്കി—കൗരവരുടെ പ്രധാന തൂണായിരുന്ന ആ പിതാമഹന്റെ നേരെ. കുരുക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ കഠിന നയം ഇതുതന്നെ: അധർമ്മത്തെ താങ്ങുന്നവൻ എത്ര വന്ദ്യനായാലും എതിർക്കേണ്ടിവരും।
