उनन््ममाथ ततस्तालं ध्वजशीर्ष महात्मन: । फिर शिखाशून्य पंखयुक्त बाणका संधान करके उसके द्वारा महात्मा भीष्मके तालचिह्नयुक्त ध्वजका ऊपरी भाग काट डाला
unmamātha tatastālaṃ dhvajaśīrṣa mahātmanaḥ |
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അപ്പോൾ അവൻ മഹാത്മാവായ ഭീഷ്മന്റെ താളചിഹ്നമുള്ള ധ്വജത്തിന്റെ ശിരോഭാഗത്തെ പ്രഹരിച്ചു. പിന്നെ ശിഖയില്ലാത്ത, ചിറകുള്ള അമ്പ് സംധാനം ചെയ്ത് അതുകൊണ്ട് ധ്വജത്തിന്റെ മുകള്ഭാഗം വെട്ടിമാറ്റി.
