आजलम्ने विशिखेी: षष्ट्या सेनान्यं स महारथ: । उस समय सेनानायक भीमसेनको सामने आते देख प्रतापी महारथी भीष्मने उन्हें साठ बाणोंसे घायल कर दिया || १०७ है || अभिमन्युं च समरे पिता देवव्रतस्तव
sañjaya uvāca | ājalamne viśikhaiḥ ṣaṣṭyā senānyaṃ sa mahārathaḥ | abhīmanyuṃ ca samare pitā devavratas tava ||
അപ്പോൾ ആ മഹാരഥിയായ ഭീഷ്മൻ, മുന്നോട്ട് വരുന്ന സേനാനായകൻ ഭീമസേനനെ അറുപത് അമ്പുകളാൽ കുത്തിവീഴ്ത്തി. അതേ യുദ്ധത്തിൽ നിന്റെ പിതാവായ ദേവവ്രതൻ (ഭീഷ്മൻ) അഭിമന്യുവിനെയും ആക്രമിച്ചു.
