Bhīṣma’s Ascendancy and the Organization of the Krauñcāruṇa Formation

Educational Q&A

One should continue performing prescribed duties—even religious acts like sacrifice, charity, and austerity—but renounce attachment and the claim to results. Ethical action is purified when it is done as duty rather than for personal gain.

In the Bhishma Parva’s Bhagavad Gita discourse on the battlefield, Krishna instructs Arjuna about renunciation and right action, clarifying that true renunciation is not abandoning duty but abandoning attachment to action and its fruits.
