न बाहुल्येन सेनाया जयो भवति नित्यश: । अध्रुवो हि जयो नाम दैवं चात्र परायणम् । जयवन्तो हि संग्रामे कृतकृत्या भवन्ति हि
na bāhulyena senāyā jayo bhavati nityaśaḥ | adhruvo hi jayo nāma daivaṃ cātra parāyaṇam | jayavanto hi saṃgrāme kṛtakṛtyā bhavanti hi |
സൈന്യത്തിന്റെ അധിക്യം കൊണ്ടുമാത്രം എല്ലായ്പ്പോഴും വിജയം ഉണ്ടാകില്ല. യുദ്ധത്തിൽ ‘വിജയം’ എന്നത് അനിശ്ചിതമാണ്; ഇവിടെ ദൈവം തന്നെയാണ് പരമാശ്രയം. സംഗ്രാമത്തിൽ ജയിക്കുന്നവരാണ് കൃതകൃത്യരായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നത്।
