Educational Q&A

Even in a righteous war, success depends on disciplined cooperation and protective duty: loyal allies take assigned roles (rear-guard and wheel-guard) to safeguard the principal warrior, reflecting kṣatriya-dharma expressed through organized responsibility rather than reckless heroism.

Sañjaya describes the protective arrangement around Arjuna in battle: Sātyaki (Yuyudhāna) stands behind him as support, while the Pāñcāla heroes Yudhāmanyu and Uttamaujā guard the vulnerable chariot-wheels, preventing enemies from disabling Arjuna’s chariot.
