चुगान्ते समवेतौ द्वौ दृश्येते सागराविव । वे दोनों सेनाएँ प्रलयकालमें एक-दूसरेसे मिलनेवाले उन दो समुद्रोंके समान दृष्टिगोचर हो रही थीं
cugānte samavetau dvau dṛśyete sāgarāv iva |
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ദിനാന്ത്യത്തിൽ മുഖാമുഖമായി ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടിയ ആ രണ്ടു സേനകളും പ്രളയകാലത്ത് പരസ്പരം സംഗമിക്കുന്ന രണ്ടു സമുദ്രങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ദൃശ്യമായിരുന്നു—ചുഴികളാൽ കലങ്ങിയതും ഉന്മത്ത മകരങ്ങളാലും ഭയങ്കര ജലചരങ്ങളാലും എല്ലാടവും നിറഞ്ഞതുമായതായി।
