अचिन्तयित्वा तान्‌ बाणान्‌ पिता देवब्रतस्तव । अर्जुन समरे क़रुद्धं वारयामास सायकै:,परंतु आपके पितृतुल्य देवव्रतने उन बाणोंकी कुछ भी परवा न करके समरमें कुपित हुए अर्जुनको अपने बाणोंद्वारा रोक दिया

acintayitvā tān bāṇān pitā devabratas tava | arjuna samare kruddhaṃ vārayāmāsa sāyakaiḥ ||

സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—നിന്റെ പിതൃതുല്യനായ ദേവവ്രതൻ (ഭീഷ്മൻ) ആ അമ്പുകളെ കണക്കാക്കാതെ, സമരത്തിൽ ക്രുദ്ധനായ അർജുനനെ തന്റെ അമ്പുകളാൽ തടഞ്ഞു.
