Shloka 22

पौरवो धृष्टकेतुं तु शड्खदेशे महासिना । ताडयामास संक्रुद्धस्तिष्ठ तिछेति चाब्रवीत्‌,पौरवने अपने महान्‌ खड्गसे धृष्टकेतुकी कनपटी-पर क्रोधपूर्वक प्रहार किया और कहा--'खड़ा रह, खड़ा रह”

sanjaya uvāca | pauravo dhṛṣṭaketuṃ tu śaṅkhadeśe mahāsinā | tāḍayāmāsa saṃkruddhas tiṣṭha tiṣṭheti cābravīt ||

അപ്പോൾ പൗരവൻ ക്രോധത്തിൽ ജ്വലിച്ച് തന്റെ മഹാഖഡ്ഗം കൊണ്ട് ധൃഷ്ടകേതുവിന്റെ ശംഖദേശത്ത് (ചെവിക്കരികിലെ കപാലഭാഗത്ത്) പ്രഹരിച്ചു; പിന്നെ “നിൽക്ക! നിൽക്ക!” എന്നു വിളിച്ചു.
