तस्मात् पार्थ पुरोधाय पञ्चालान् सूंजयांस्तथा । मद्वधे क्रियतां यत्नो मम चेदिच्छसि प्रियम्,“इसलिये यदि तुम मेरा प्रिय करना चाहते हो तो अर्जुन तथा पांचालों और सूंजयोंको आगे करके मेरे वधके लिये प्रयत्न करो”
tasmāt pārtha purodhāya pañcālān sūñjayāṁs tathā | mad-vadhe kriyatāṁ yatno mama ced icchasi priyam ||
അതുകൊണ്ട്, ഹേ പാർഥ, നീ എനിക്ക് പ്രിയം ചെയ്യുവാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ പാഞ്ചാലരെയും സൃഞ്ജയരെയും മുൻപിൽ നിർത്തി എന്റെ വധത്തിനായി ദൃഢമായി ശ്രമിക്കൂ.
