भीष्मस्य अप्रतिमपराक्रमः — शिखण्डिपुरस्कृतः प्रहारः
Bhīṣma’s unmatched momentum and the assault with Śikhaṇḍin in the lead
समाद्रवन्त गाड़ेयं श्रुत्वा पार्थस्य भाषितम् । प्रजानाथ! नकुल, सहदेव, पराक्रमी धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर तथा दूसरे समस्त सैनिक अर्जुनका उपर्युक्त वचन सुनकर भीष्मजीकी ओर बढ़ने लगे
samādravanta gāḍheyaṃ śrutvā pārthasya bhāṣitam | prajānātha! nakulaḥ sahadevaḥ parākramī dharmarāja yudhiṣṭhiraḥ tathā dvitīyāḥ samastāḥ sainikāḥ arjunasya uparyuktaṃ vacanaṃ śrutvā bhīṣma-jīṃ prati abhivardhanta ||
ഹേ പ്രജാനാഥാ! പാർഥന്റെ (അർജുനന്റെ) വാക്കുകൾ കേട്ടപ്പോൾ നകുലനും സഹദേവനും, പരാക്രമശാലിയായ ധർമ്മരാജ യുദ്ധിഷ്ഠിരനും, മറ്റു സൈനികരൊക്കെയും ഭീഷ്മന്റെ നേരെ മുന്നേറി.
