फुल्लाशोकनिभ: पार्थ: शुशुभे रणमूर्थनि । हाथियोंके दाँतोंसे अनेक बार विदीर्ण हुए भीमसेन युद्धके मुहानेपर खिले हुए अशोकके समान शोभा पा रहे थे

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | phullāśokanibhaḥ pārthaḥ śuśubhe raṇamūrdhani |

Translation

സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—പുഷ്പിച്ച അശോകവൃക്ഷംപോലെ പാർത്ഥൻ യുദ്ധഭൂമിയുടെ മുൻനിരയിൽ ദീപ്തനായി ശോഭിച്ചു. ആനകളുടെ ദന്തങ്ങൾ പലവട്ടം കുത്തിപ്പിളർത്തിയിട്ടും ഭീമസേനൻ യുദ്ധമുഖത്ത് വിരിഞ്ഞ അശോകംപോലെ തന്നെ ശോഭ നേടി.
