Adhyāya 104 — Śikhaṇḍin-puraskāraḥ (Śikhaṇḍin as Vanguard) and Bhīṣma’s Counter-Advance
hatam āyaṁ tato rakṣo vadhyamānaṁ ca sāyakaiḥ
The verse highlights the moral logic of the battlefield in the epic: violent aggression meets an appropriate counterforce, and outcomes unfold through action and consequence (karma) within the framework of kṣatriya-dharma.
Sañjaya reports that a rākṣasa combatant is being struck by arrows and is ultimately slain, marking a decisive moment in the ongoing battle description.
