वाचा युद्धप्रवृत्तानां वाचैव प्रतियोधनम् । निष्क्रान्ता: पृतनामध्यान्न हन्तव्या: कदाचन
vāca yuddhapravṛttānāṁ vācāiva pratiyodhanam | niṣkrāntāḥ pṛtanāmadhyān na hantavyāḥ kadācana ||
വൈശംപായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—“വാക്കുപോരിൽ ഏർപ്പെട്ടവർക്കു വാക്കുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ മറുപോരാകണം. സൈന്യത്തിന്റെ നടുവിൽ നിന്ന് പുറത്തുവന്നവരെ ഒരിക്കലും വധിക്കരുത്.”
