Adhyāya 90: Babhruvāhana’s Reception and the Commencement of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Aśvamedha
यदा दानरुचि: स्याद् वै तदा धर्मो न सीदति । अनवेक्ष्य सुतस्नेहं कलत्रस्नेहमेव च
yadā dānaruciḥ syād vai tadā dharmo na sīdati | anavekṣya sutasnehaṃ kalatrasnehameva ca ||
ദാനം ചെയ്യാനുള്ള രുചി ഉദിക്കുമ്പോൾ ധർമ്മം ക്ഷയിക്കുകയില്ല. പുത്രസ്നേഹത്തെയും ഭാര്യാസ്നേഹത്തെയും പോലും നോക്കാതെ—അഥവാ ആസക്തിയിൽ കുടുങ്ങാതെ—ദാനം ചെയ്യണം.
